Best Edition Batman: Knightfall Vol. 1 with FREE PDF EDITION!

Knightfall is one of the most well known of story arcs in the Batman canon. Bane, an intelligent and brutally strong enemy raised in a hellish prison is out to prove that he is without rival, and he sets his sights on Gotham and Batman. Putting Batman through a gauntlet of his Rogues and testing his foe, Bane ultimately sets Batman up for one of the biggest defeats of his life.This dense collection was in many ways difficult to go back and read, mostly because I had forgotten how much comics had changed since. This arc is very nineties, which is to say everything is "EXTREME!" The muscles are big, the guns are big, the colors and shading are intense. The dialogue is laid on real thick. It's over the top without necessarily always knowing it. But that's not inherently bad or good, it's just very of the time. So a reader going in and not suspecting it might be thrown.But hindsight is always 20/20, and it's difficult to judge such an old arc in retrospect, so I'll only say that the value in the collection lies in memorializing a major event in Batman's history. If your'e out to learn about Batman or collect some of the major arcs, this is for you. If you want subtle or gradual storytelling that's more associated with Batman in later eras, this may not be for you. But there's no denying that this is one of the major stories that Batman fans have to experience at least once.
